who we are

About the JW Memorial Foundation

The JW Memorial Foundation was the brainchild of Jeff Welch. Jeff was dedicated to his lifelong profession, the fire services, but also dedicated to his family. His wife is a former law enforcement officer, and his son currently serves as one as well. Public service is part of the family heritage.

After being diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma in 2016, Jeff decided that he wanted to give back to the emergency service professions which had brought so much to his life. After researching various organizations around the country, Jeff decided that the best way to honor those in public service was to help provide for the immediate needs of the families of emergency service personnel who are severely injured or killed in the line of duty.

Jeff lost his battle with lymphoma prior to being able to fulfill this dream. It is from his inspiration that we are dedicated to continue doing the work and carrying out Jeff’s wishes to help those who help us!
